Duplex strainers are high-performance filtration systems designed to provide continuous, uninterrupted debris removal in critical pipeline operations. Consisting of two strainer chambers connected by a changeover valve, duplex strainers allow one basket to remain in service while the other is cleaned or replaced, ensuring steady flow without shutting down the system. Compared to Basket, Y and T strainers, which require the line to be stopped for cleaning, Duplex strainers offer a major advantage by enabling maintenance without interrupting operation. Furthermore, Duplex strainers handle higher flow rates and larger contamination volumes similar to basket strainers, but more efficiently. In contrast to cone strainers, which are temporary devices used mainly during startup or commissioning, duplex strainers are built for permanent installation and long-term service, making them ideal for continuous industrial processes.
