Cone Strainer

Cone strainers (also known as temporary strainers) are simple yet highly effective filtration devices used to capture debris such as welding slag, rust, scale, and construction particles during the startup and commissioning phase of piping systems. Installed directly between flanges, cone strainers provide immediate protection for sensitive equipment like pumps, flow meters, and heat exchangers by preventing contamination before full system start up.

Unlike basket strainers, which are permanent, heavy-duty units designed for long-term service and easy cleaning, cone strainers are typically intended for short-term or temporary use until the pipeline system is fully flushed. Compared to Y, T and Duplex strainers, which remain installed for continuous and uninterupted operation, cone strainers offer a more compact and economical solution for initial pipeline flushing.
